As the final winner was announced at September's glamorous Forecourt Trader Awards ceremony, the Garner Group's table could not have been more shocked.

It was a fabulous family affair as the Garner Group took top honours for the second time in five years at this year's Forecourt Trader Awards ceremony, which was celebrated in grand style at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge.

Nominate your choice for Special Recognition Award

We are seeking nominations for Forecourt Trader of the Year's 'Special Recognition' award, which is run in conjunction with principal sponsor, Essar Oil (UK) Ltd, and is voted for by the readers of Forecourt Trader. The category aims to highlight the person/people who are setting standards, blazing a trail, or in some way worthy of recognition. Past winners include Patrick Sewell, Ken Kay and David Penny.

How to be a winner

The Forecourt Trader of the Year Award will be presented at a glittering ceremony at the Park Plaza, Westminster, London on Thursday, September 12, along with many other awards, which recognise the high standards of operation in the fuel retailing sector. But will it be you up on the winners' podium, celebrating a great victory?

This month sees the launch of the Forecourt Trader Awards 2019. The most prestigious and respected awards in the UK's petrol retailing calendar will again seek out the brightest and best in the industry those pushing the boundaries of hard work and innovation in the pursuit of excellence. This year we have a new principal sponsor Essar Oil (UK) and a great new venue. The competition will culminate in a glamorous ceremony in London at the stunning Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge. All finalists will be invited.

When the Forecourt Trader of the Year award winner was finally announced as the A26 Tannaghmore site in Northern Ireland, the stage at the glamorous Hilton on Park Lane erupted in applause and ticker tape, and everyone on the Maxol table fell off their seats.
